John Holden has dreamed about becoming a comedian ever since he watched Gallagher smash watermelons on VHS. But it wasn't until a few years ago, when Holden had to go to court for a criminal case and an unrelated civil case, that he finally found the courage to get on stage. He discovered he could instantly stop worrying about his next appearance in front of the judge, if he instead worried more about doing stand-up at the next open mic.

Both cases were dismissed and Holden now hosts the Jade Fountain Comedy Mic. He says, "if you're at the end of your rope, why not give stand-up a try, on Tuesday, at 8pm?"
